Hi,I have been looking at the new Deathadder 2013 but I have been hesitating because of the dependency on the Synapse drivers and lack of onboard memory on the mouse. So my question is if anyone in here is using their Deathadder 2013 without any drivers installed (except for standard windows drivers of course) - will this work properly or would I be loosing too many features?I ask because I will still be using my Logitech G700 for work and mmo gaming and I don't think it would be a good idea to have too much mouse software installed (I have the Logitech software installed). And based on what I've read about the Synapse software it seems to be rather bad.I would also like to be able to plug the mouse into other computers where I don't have access to install drivers and use it like on my own computer, but I don't know if this is the right mouse for what I'm looking after. I just like the shape of it a lot. What do you think? Thanks in advance. You don't have to have an always on internet connection. If your internet drops out, the mouse doesn't stop working.
I've been using Synapse since it came out and have no complaints. Not saying it's not bullshit that you have to create an account to use it but I just put in my Yahoo junk mail address and got on with it. I plugged my Deathadder up to my wife's computer without installing Synapse and it worked just fine. The light pulsed like it does on my computer and I adjusted the pointer speed thru the Windows mouse settings.
It's not really because of the online/offline mode stuff, I would just prefer to keep it simple and don't install too many mouse drivers - I already have the Logitech stuff so I have a feeling I could end up with problems having both this and synapse. Also the stuff I read about synapse gathering information/spying sounds quite odd to me.When you plug it in is the dpi then reverted to default or does it remember the last setting you used on your own computer with synapse installed? Would also be interesting to hear if it could remember if you turned off the pulsating light for example.
L4d: that sounds good its just very confusing that many people say that it does not have onboard memory, I think even razer said that one 'benefit' of synapse was that such memory is not needed? It doesn't say anything about onboard memory on their website spec sheet. Perhaps they just reduced it so much so it only holds the last settings as you suggest.Do you know about the LOD setting? Microsoft money free download. I guess this should get saved too? I have also seen mixed opinions about the actual effect of this setting, seems like it doesn't really have a big effect.I wish they had designed this mouse to be driverless to begin with like the zowie mice seems like a much more simple and elegant solution to me - it's a shame I like the shape of the Deathadder much more.
